So, on May 24th, Melissa and Audrey were out grocery shopping. Kerry and Ryan were hangin' at home. When M & A returned, Kerry had received an unusual phone call (at least on a Saturday). He was told that Vesta (www.trustvesta.com) wanted to have him join their team. Needless to say it was a welcomed surprise on a holiday weekend to say the least. He is to start June 9th.
This past Sunday, we were asked to speak in church. Cal, Cathy, and Jeff sat with Audrey and Ryan during the meeting. The talks seemed to go well; we didn't get any tomatoes thrown our direction. Cal and Cathy are quite popular in the ward. It was almost like watching famous people wave to the throngs of admirers. :) We appreciated their help. Kerry had two other interviews scheduled for this week (Freightliner and Harland Financial), however, after thinking the offer from Vesta over the weekend-it was too good of an offer to delay. Boy, did it feel good to say...sorry, I can't make it to the interview, I have a job. As Cathy mentioned, Memorial Day we spent with them and Jeff. Wildwood is beautiful. It was perfect weather, great food, and as always entertaining company. We look forward to the next nature trip with them. Wednesday, we enjoyed a get together with Dad Smith, Evie, and everyone at Alan and Mona's. It was nice for some R&R with family. Alan's new deck looks great! The landscaping design was pretty impressive as well. Audrey and Ryan enjoyed running around with Ruby and Pearl in the backyard. There is something about kids and puppies. This weekend we are heading to Orting to see Dallin get baptized. We plan to hang with Wrathalls overnight and then we will head off into the wild yonder to celebrate our 5th anniversary coming this next week. We are glad Kerry's job starts in a week so we can have one last play week together as a family. We will have a transition having Daddy go back to work. He will be missed-it has for the most part been a lot of fun. We are grateful for that job. More on that later....
