Here we are in our third week of limbo when it comes to our ward. And it will be two more weeks until anything happens since next week we were invited to the Seattle regional conference. We are not supposed to be going but since half of our ward is really in the region holds callings in our ward they figured we could not function without them. They are probably right! They are getting really desperate for some things here. In a few minutes I am going with Kayla to do the Soldier's Home sacrament meeting. The soldier's home is in our ward and we do a sacrament meeting once a month there. They couldn't find anyone to play the piano. For some reason everyone thinks that I can play the piano. They asked and I answered truthfully that I can only play a little but, they wanted me to come anyway. Kayla gets to conduct. I've been practicing furiously for the past few hours. I am sure that I will screw up plenty but at least I tried. So, everything in the ward will happen while we in Idaho the week after conference. We will miss all the excitement of who the new bishop will be and all.
We are back to cooler weather today. It has been record breaking temps here and without air conditioning it was pretty horrible. Most of the day we would lie around and wait for the cool evenings. They last few evenings we have been working on our back yard. We got a lot done but still need to do plenty more. Kent tells me I work him too hard. I guess we will have to wait until the fall to put our grass in but the dirt is already in place. Hopefully we can keep the weeds at bay. It is nice to have some progress on the whole thing. Kent left for San Diego today so I get to work on it with the kids this week. Really the kids have been great at helping. I guess all except Jared who is fighting allergies like never before and has been feeling pretty awful. Jared's drama class just performed their play. John Wayne and the Mad Scientist. Jared was the Mad Scientist. The students of the class also wrote the play. Some parts were pretty interesting. Allison and Dallin came to the middle school before their school began. They have no idea who John Wayne was but they thought it was pretty funny. Seeing Jared up there performing I just keep on seeing Eric. Tomorrow is Allison's play. The Elephant Child. She has a few lines that she had to try out for. She learned them ages ago and will sure be ready for the big day. The year of school is about to wrap up. This is their last week. Seminary was over on Friday. Kayla managed to get 100 percent attendance. Jared and Allison also got 100 percent attendance for school. Only Dallin manage to be sick enough to miss school. We did show up five minutes late on the last day of seminary. Kayla just had to get a donut with the rest of us at Safeway before Seminary.
