Just a wee update from my last entry. We DID get to Alan and Mona's after we hit a horrible traffic jam. We are unsure if there was an accident or what but what usually takes us 45 minutes took us 2 1/2 hours. Of course, the stop go motion affected Audrey downtown Portland and she threw up. She felt much better afterwards. We were pretty much stuck in traffic so there wasn't much we could do to clean her up when she missed the bag I had gotten for her. By the time we got to the corner before you turn to Alan and Mona's street, Ryan began to throw up-twice as much as Audrey had...it was not pleasant.

So an hour late for dinner, we arrived, and hurridly threw the kids into a bath of water. There clothes were thrown into the washer and Alan and Mona were as gracious as they are and the kids wore some of Mona's Tshirts until their clothes were laundered. We were able to see and visit with Richard briefly during our visit. He looks well. Despite the circumstances in which we arrived to dinner, things greatly improved by the time we left. Thank goodness for an understanding family. By the way the steaks were excellent, very tender and the rest of the meal was fabulous.
