As Kerry meandered out the door in the wee hours to retrieve the Oregonian on the driveway he stepped on a moving sidewalk. The snake equally as startled began to slither in place hoping for a quick getaway. For the record, snakes don't slither very well on slanted cement driveways. Kerry would have had a little more fun with 'Snaky' however, he was in bare feet and feeling vulnerable.

Later that morning, I was pulling out the dead ends of our spring bulbs. As I worked my way along the flower bed, I saw another snake. Snakytoo was motionless and admittedly, my dislike of snakes got the better of me. I chickened out of finishing the bed and only watched it sunbathe motionlessly until Audrey came home on the bee-yellow school bus. Eager to share my snake sighting after coming back home that evening with Kerry, I pointed to where he was last spotted. Curious, Kerry climbed to find that Snakytoo was dead due to the recent rainforest mowing.

The vaccuum has proved to keep spiders at bay indoors for Kerry. I doubt that I could employ the same effect outdoors with the bane of my existence. http://www.szgdocent.org/resource/rr/c-hide.htm
