Hard to believe that Kayla's seventeen! We had to go see for ourselves!Cal and I went up to visit the Wrathalls and picked Kayla's birthday (so we wouldn't have to send her a card). We arrived in time to see her tear through her gifts, eat some of her birthday cake and meet her boyfriend Chris. Kayla still doesn't look a day over 16, but what can you do?

Phyllis (excuse me), Ann, ever busy, had appointments the next day, so I actually had to get up and go to early morning seminary just to see her. A flashback to my youth, trying to focus on the scriptures at that hour of the morning, but I hope I took good notes.

I'm just kidding about not seeing Ann the next day. We actually went on a nice walk along the river and went to lunch. I also got to go to the store with Kayla and watch her buy Teddy Grahams (you'll have to ask her about that). In the evening, we forced some of the family to watch our Antarctica video. No one fell asleep but I think Ann saw enough penguins. We also watched part of "Lost" and some other show that Kayla was watching (the name of which I can't recall), the first time Cal and I had seen these shows (I know, we are way out of it).

On Thursday, we found a very good hike that Ann picked out. Unfortunately, we didn't get to go very far because I had to be back home for a meeting Thursday night. But for that meeting, we were planning on staying for a least a few hours of Dallin's birthday. In his effort to get me home on time for the meeting, Cal got pulled over for doing 71 in a 60 mph zone, but passed the attitude test with the cop and only got a warning (or was it because I was hurrying to get to a Relief Society meeting?) In any event, we had a great time and we'll try not to make it so long between visits to the Wrathalls. Posted by Hello
