Kerry took Ryan just after 5am for his surgery yesterday. We were told it was a same-day surgery. He did good during the procedure - they say he had HUGE tonsils and we forgot to ask about the adenoids and other lymph. Anyway, he slept and slept. When he awoke, they tried to get him to drink and eat....he vomited everywhere. I think Grandma was there for that while Kerry was grabbing a bite to eat.

Later the Dr decided to keep him overnight because he wasn't taking to his oral pain medication and he wasn't eating or drinking anything. Kerry and I were surprised since we thought that he was expected to have a tough go of things....but we managed to do the swap and I relieved Kerry and was up with him at the hospital all night and into this morning.

I think I accelerated Ryan's release by asking if Ryan could shower since he was feeling miserable. Ryan screamed the entire way in and after enjoying a nice 30 min shower...he screamed because he had to get out for breakfast at the insistance of the nurses (lol). They now truly know how unhappy he was! It was good for one thing, they got out of the snail mode and raced to get us discharged - I have never witnessed non-ICU nurses sprint before....

Anyway, today at home Ryan is swollen and he hurts a lot. The swelling is affecting his asthma a bit...but we're managing it with medications. We're told the pain will accelerate through the weekend into early next week before he'll start feeling better. We've got lots of codeine to help and yet, I feel the prayers we're saying are more of a huge lift. Anyway, over here we're exhausted.

We've decided to postpone Ashlynn turning two this Friday - lol. We want to have Ryan able to join with us in the celebrating. Maybe we can escape the 'terrific-terrible two's' a little longer - lol... We may enjoy a day at the zoo with our crew and you are all invited as soon as we know when, we'll share!

We love you and thank those of you who've been praying for us!

I have slowly been updating our personal blog http://smithforgedrizzle.blogspot.com/ It is far from updated, however, there are some fun photos for you to see and I will slowly tell you as I've updated postings by photos...and etc. It is more of an experiment on my personaly family history keeping than anything. But you never know when you trickle into that! Eventually my goal is to have picked up all the way from when we left our old homepage and etc.

Love you!
