The Crandalls, including Michael (Cal's grandson), Jeff and Kerry's family got together to carve pumpkins for Halloween. Melissa made yummy shepherd's pie, but then couldn't stand to be around us for long so she left while we ate it. It was big hit with Cal, who has wanted to make shepherd's pie ever since we were there.
Several pumpkins actually got carved and we had a great time. Unfortunately, the next day Michael got in a fight with his father, with the result that he left home and we have had only the vaguest knowledge of his whereabouts since then. Cal thought this was a minor incident and would quickly blow over, but as time has gone on, it seems to be more serious than we originally thought. If you feel so inclined, please remember him in your prayers, as this may be a very crucial time in his life.
