Smith/Peden/Wrathall/Crandall

The end of May saw the Crandalls traveling to Idaho and Utah. Cal got to visit with many of his siblings and those in the area visited the graves of their parents and grandparents. We then went south, taking the long way, through far western Wyoming, to see the sights and a few birds, too. Did you know that there is a Paris in Idaho, with a fancy tabernacle? We continued on by way of Bear Lake and Logan, stopping for a few minutes on the temple grounds.

We stayed with Cal's brother, Jay, in Draper and with Eric and family in Lehi. We went out to Provo to have dinner with some of the Taylors. Shannon organized a breakfast on Memorial Day with Richard's family. Eric took us on a hike up to a lake in American Fork Canyon. We then went with our friends to the Salt Lake temple. We stopped on the way back and visited with dad's cousin, June, in Rupert, Id. who we had met on a prior trip.

It was quite a homecoming after that, as we had two deaths in the ward and a wedding of a new convert within a week and a half.

Mona and Alan hosted a barbecue on Father's Day and we had Dean, mom and Jeff over for dinner on the following Wednesday. I understand that Dean is really enjoying his Netflix movies.

After things settled down a bit, we met Mona, Tyler and Chloe at the zoo and had a fun afternoon with them seeing the animals and riding the train. Cal's daughter Kim and family moved to Arizona so Cal made a few trips up to Arlington, WA where she had been living to help out a bit with the move and related things.

Life returned somewhat to normal before we left for our annual July temple closure trip. We stayed for a few nights just outside of Monroe, WA—the Wrathalls may be the only ones who know where that is. We planned to spend just a few more days in Leavenworth, WA, and then move farther east, but while we were in Leavenworth, it got so hot that we decided just to stay put. Leavenworth has lots of shade. Where we were going had very little, so we'll save that for another time.

Hope all is well with everyone and I'm sure all would love to hear what you've been up to!
