Hi All

As you can see it has been a long while since any one has posted any thing on our family blog. On June 30 my Friend Peter and I went to the Oregon Coast and we went to Lincoln city,Newport and Yachats. The weather was temperature in the upper 50's blue skies and windy. We stopped at a beach between Newport and Lincoln city and it sure was hard to walk along the beach with it being so windy but it still was fun to walk along the beach. It seem when you have a nice sunny day at the Oregon coast it seems to be windy. Peter and I just spent the day there and it was a lot of fun and I love going to the beach. July 4 Peter and I were invited to some for the 4th of July block party. They lived in Tigard. At the block party they had lots of food to eat and shot off fireworks. Boy did they have the fireworks that they shot off that night. Some of the fireworks they shot were bottle rockets, skyrocket, fire crackers and different kinds of fountains just to name a few.I had a great 4th of July.July 10 and 11 I went to Central Oregon with Peter. We went to Bend and Eagle Crest which is near Redmond and the reason we went was because on July 11 it was Peter's mom 80th birthday and she was having a party. We left on Friday July 10 in the late morning and it was a 3 hour drive to get over to Bend where Peter and I stayed the night and we were able to stay in Alan's condo there in Bend. Alan also came and stayed the night. He rode his motorcycle and in the morning was off to California on a road trip. On the way to Bend Peter and I stooped in a town called Madras for lunch. For dinner Alan.Peter and I went into Bend. Saturday July 11 After breakfast Peter and I went to Mount Bachelor ski area to walk around and we were only 14 miles from there from Alan's condo. At Mount Bachelor they had the had the ski shop open and we went and walk around inside. They also had one ski lift going that you could ride but we did not do this because we didn't not have a lot time to spend at Mount Bachelor because we needed to get to Peter's parents place and Peter wanted to go to downtown Bend before going to his parents place in Eagle Crest. We finally made it to Peter's parent place early afternoon. The birthday party for his mom started at 4:00Peter's brother and sister were there at the party. His sister also had her boy friend and also brought a friend along as well. There were also friend of Peter's parents as well. At the party there was lots of food and cake to eat. I have met Peter's parents several times before and this was the second time that I have met his brother and sister. We left for home that evening at 7:15 and we got to Peter's place at 10:20 so it took us just a little over three hour to get home and then it took me another 20 minutes before I was home. I had a great time. The weather was great while we were over in Central Oregon Except for being little to hot for me. July 23 I went to see my doctor that did my left hip replacement and he did x-rays to see how things were looking with my hip and he said that everything looked great and that was great to hear. In October I am going to Georgia to see Phyllis. I was able to find a great deal on airfare and I am looking forward to doing that. Well hope all is well.Take care. Jeff Friday, August 29, 2008
The Family Reunion this summer was an adventure. It is a miracle so many of us were able to gather together in one location. Here is an assortment of various photos of things...in random order. We have much more but just wanted to share a glimpse. We hope you all made it home from the reunion....this blog has been very quiet for a very long time..... Sunday, May 25, 2008

Sorry we all couldn't be together for Christmas, but we know you were here in spirit. Hope all had a merry Christmas and a happy new year! (0) comments Thursday, December 20, 2007
Bringing the old (sorry, Kayla) and the young grandchildren together, mom had a houseful just a few days before Thanksgiving. Wednesday, October 31, 2007
We all squished in to Cal and Cathy's dining room (okay, there was a bit of edging into the living room) for mom's 71st birthday. Go, mom!

Of course the kids wanted to help with the candles..... And, we got a little Halloween preview when we went over for our first glimpse of Sean: Hope you all had a happy Halloween! Tuesday, September 18, 2007
During August, our transcontinental sibling, Ann, came to town, giving us the perfect excuse for a northwest family get-together! We all crammed together in a little corner of the picnic shelter, where we ate and laughed and Melissa turned really shy--you'll have to ask her about that one. The Crandalls then left for Pacific City, where we had great weather and lots of ripe huckleberries. Shimano, however, so as not to be confused with the cartoon character, prefers to be "Apple Core Hound" instead. ![]() Four days home from Pacific City and the Crandalls left for Island Park, Idaho. We spent time with all of Cal's siblings and got up into Yellowstone Park for a day, but the highlight of the trip was our visit with Kayla in Rexburg. Here are Kayla and Alex in front of the nearly completed Rexburg Temple. ![]() Kayla and Alex also showed us all over campus, which has changed just a bit over the last 30 years. We got really nostalgic about college life by checking out Kayla's apartment and meeting her five roommates ;-). We had a GIANT hamburger for lunch, then Cal and I spent the night in Idaho Falls before heading home. Upon our return, we got to see Eric for about 87 minutes, just before the big "brothers' weekend." Anyone brave enough to report on that? |
